The LCBO is reporting that Ontario craft beers rose 37 per cent over the 2007/08 fiscal year and that beer and ready-to-drink products were up eight per cent to $990 million.
Congratulations to the Ontario Craft Brewers who continue to see increases year after year!!! It would seem that more and more people are realizing the benefits of drinking quality craft beer.

But that is due to the LCBO's new found commitment and shelf space provided to members of the OCB, right? 2009 over 2008 will be a measure of growth rather than product identification.
I can see that, but what stands out to me it that it took away % points from the big breweries.
The LCBO has recently implemented a new system to recognize OCB beers strategically placed according to demographic. So selling Lakes of Muskoka in North Bay as apposed to Windsor, so sales in those regions would have an impact on OCB products.
From what I understand as well though is that the LCBO has continued bringing in new imports while stagnating OCB beers in certain stores. I really think people are starting to drink less, but choosing better beer.
