I am actually staying in Victor, NY but the hockey team I'm travelling with is playing their games in Rochester. I arrived on Friday night and after checking into our hotel we headed out to the closest gas station to see what was in the beer fridge. Sam Adams, a shit load of Budweiser (Bud Light Lime?), and cheap Molson and Labatt products; but also Ithaca Cascazilla Monstrously Hoppy Red Ale.
Handed over $10.00 for a six pack of the hoppy monster. Back at the hotel, feet up, beer in hand and a trip to Beers of the World planned for later. Times are good.

You lucky son of a gun. Get some Le Freak if you can!
You can get cascazilla on tap at Moosewood in Ithaca - as in the Moosewood vegetarian cookbooks. Very much worth the trip to a great small city.
We did a Buffalo & Rochester trip back in the summer.
If you like Southern BBQ I suggest visits to Dinosaur BBQ (right downtown) and Sticky Lips (about 15 minute drive outside of downtown.)
Beers of the World is definitely worth a visit!
A nice beer bar we went to was Tap & Mallet. http://www.tapandmallet.com/
Alan/Anonymous: Because of the way the schedule was set up we didn't have much time to tour the city and its various pubs. It does call for another time though.
Hey that was a great adventure. Thank you fro sharing your experience with us.
